What you'll do

  • Own and evolve the Amazon Autos design system, defining, documenting, and maintaining reusable components, patterns, tokens, and guidelines for web and mobile
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to suggest, audit, and optimize design token structures across themes and platforms
  • Craft high-fidelity UI designs with attention to typography, color, spacing, iconography, motion, and layout
  • Design system components for AI-powered experiences and natural language-to-UI interfaces
  • Design, spec, and document new components and patterns; partner with engineering to ensure accurate implementation and accessibility compliance
  • Integrate AI tools to generate and maintain component documentation, usage guidelines, and changelogs
  • Collaborate with engineers, UX designers, researchers, product managers, and content designers to translate needs into systematic design solutions
  • Audit existing experiences for visual and interaction inconsistencies and propose improvements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design with a focus on design systems and/or visual design
  • A portfolio demonstrating visual design craft, systematic thinking, and end-to-end product design work
  • Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma) including component libraries, auto-layout, variables/tokens, and prototyping
  • Experience building, scaling, or contributing to a design system (component libraries, style guides, pattern documentation)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows, including prompt-driven prototyping, generative design exploration, or AI-powered design-to-code tools
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and platform conventions (web, iOS, Android)
  • Ability to articulate design rationale and influence cross-functional partners
  • 5+ years of design experience
