Senior Product Designer (m/w/d) - AI Revenue Manager (Founding Designer)

happyhotel is building an AI Revenue Manager: a conversational agent product for hoteliers accessible via WhatsApp, Telegram and a focused web UI, designed from the ground up around an agent rather than as an AI feature on an existing product. They are hiring a Founding Designer to join the newly formed product team and work directly with Marius (Co-founder & CTPO) and Sebastian (Co-founder) to define how the AI agent should behave in hotel operations, prototyping with real hoteliers before production code is written.

What you'll do

  • Define the product's interaction paradigm: what happens in chat vs. web UI, and what is proactive vs. reactive
  • Design the AI-to-human escalation flow where internal RM experts take over when the AI is uncertain
  • Make AI decisions visible and trustworthy by providing explanations and traceability, treating the agent's long-term memory as a design object
  • Build fast, testable prototypes with AI-assisted tools (Figma Make, v0, Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code) and enable PM and Engineering to produce consistent prototypes
  • Run a continuous research loop together with the PM with ~10 beta-design-partners and the internal RM team
  • Develop the product's visual language across chat, web and notifications and work as close to the code as possible
  • Work in prototypes before the first production code and engage daily with the founders and beta-design partners

What they're looking for

  • 3+ years Product Design in digital products, ideally SaaS
  • Experience in 0-to-1 or founding contexts
  • Genuine interest in AI products and developing UX patterns for agentic products
  • Prototype close to code and actively use AI-assisted tools to shorten feedback loops
  • Solid user research practice: conduct interviews with non-technical, time-pressed users and derive decisions
  • Comfortable working in tight loops with founders and engineering (short messages, quick calls, same-day decisions)
  • Willing to regularly work with the team on-site in Offenburg or work remotely with close touchpoints
  • Fluent professional-level German and English
