Packa is the leading platform for managing packaging specifications and operates Packmatic, a digital platform connecting companies with a Europe-wide network of packaging suppliers. The company is growing rapidly and is looking for design talent to work directly with the early-stage founding team with creative freedom and high ownership. The role includes shaping UX for packaging and compliance workflows, prototyping with AI and code when useful, and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering. The position offers hybrid working from an office in Berlin - Prenzlauer Berg.

What you'll do

  • Keep a user-first perspective and make complex packaging and compliance workflows intuitive, clear, and measurable
  • Lead user research and discovery through interviews, usability tests, and workshops
  • Partner with Product and Engineering from problem framing through solution design to create end-to-end experiences
  • Identify recurring interaction needs and define reusable UX patterns (tables, filters, bulk actions, status, review flows, data completeness, system states)
  • Maintain and improve interaction principles, components, states, and usage guidance in the design system
  • Prototype using Figma, AI coding tools, and lightweight coded prototypes; navigate frontend code and make smaller UI changes when useful
  • Work closely with Engineers to understand technical constraints, review live implementations, and adapt solutions
  • Use product data, customer feedback, and support signals to improve workflows and the underlying UX system

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Product Design, ideally in SaaS B2B and preferably with complex or data-heavy workflows
  • Proven experience designing and shipping digital products end-to-end with strong examples of shipped work
  • Deep understanding of interaction design, information architecture, systems thinking, and user experience principles
  • Systems mindset focused on reusable patterns and principles
  • Technical fluency with modern component-based frontend applications and familiarity with HTML/CSS and React/TypeScript concepts (production frontend engineering not a core requirement)
  • AI-first working style, actively using AI tools for research synthesis, exploration, prototyping, and lightweight coding
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and domain experts
  • Strong command of Figma and familiarity with modern collaboration, research, analytics, and AI prototyping tools
