NewSenior Design System and Product Designer | Operational Journey

This role exists to improve the merchant lifecycle (onboarding, activation, and lifecycle across many surfaces) and to own the design system that keeps that experience coherent as the domain scales. You report to the Product Design UX Director for Customer Lifecycle and will act as the senior design owner in the domain, splitting time between product work and system consolidation.
What you'll do
- Product design in the Operational Journey cluster: onboarding, dashboard, and KYC-heavy lifecycle flow, reconciling clarity with compliance requirements
- Consolidate the existing design system: analyze and diagnose it, consolidate and document it, and establish tokens and patterns for the team
- Set design standards across the domain and guide design decisions in areas without a dedicated designer, including the developer-experience surface, through standards and critique rather than producing every screen
- Mentor and raise the craft of other designers when needed
- Report to the Product Design UX Director for Customer Lifecycle and act as the senior design owner in the domain
- Split time between product work and system consolidation, weighted toward system consolidation early and rebalancing toward product later

- Systems thinking with experience building reusable components, tokens, and patterns with rigor, considering consistency, versioning, and how others will use them
- Fluency with the discipline of disclosure in regulated products, communicating required information so users understand it and demonstrating experience with high-stakes clarity
- Consolidating or migrating an existing design system (strong plus)
- Fintech or payments product design (strong plus)
- Front-end literacy (strong plus)
- Track record of mentoring designers up (strong plus)
