- Lead the strategy, evolution and execution of Alpaca so it scales with an increasingly AI-driven product organization
- Extend the design system to support AI and agent patterns, including agent chat and canvas experiences and components that adapt to runtime or model context
- Partner with designers and engineers across product teams to define, document and ship components, patterns and guidelines
- Establish governance models, contribution frameworks and quality standards, including for AI-native surfaces
- Drive adoption through education, tooling and partnership, and mentor other designers on systems thinking
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design as a foundational requirement
What they're looking for
- 7+ years as a product designer with significant depth in design systems, ideally in complex B2B SaaS
- Deep expertise building scalable design systems (component architecture, tokens, pattern libraries) with a view on how they change for AI and agentic surfaces
- Strong visual design foundation with high craft, not just governance
- Comfort operating in ambiguity between Design Systems and AI/Agent product work
- Experience collaborating with front-end engineers, fluent enough to reason about design-to-code fidelity
