- Lead the design system’s direction and priorities across native mobile and web, define and manage the design system roadmap, translate requests into priorities and determine reuse, improvements, new capabilities or exceptions
- Develop and maintain components, patterns, templates, design tokens and usage guidance covering visual design, interaction behaviour, content requirements, accessibility and relevant states including errors and alternative paths
- Partner with engineering teams to keep design libraries and implemented components aligned and support consistent experiences across platforms and markets while allowing for native conventions, localisation and valid differences
- Define governance and contribution processes for proposing, reviewing, approving and contributing changes; establish ownership, quality standards, documentation requirements and maintain visibility of changes, dependencies and exceptions
- Drive adoption and build team capability by embedding the design system into everyday work, providing guidance, examples and training, and leading and coaching design system designers
- Manage design operations and how design is integrated into delivery from concept development through design reviews, handover, implementation and testing; clarify responsibilities, inputs, review points and decision-making with partners; improve tooling, documentation and collaboration practices
- Evolve the design system and supporting processes to be structured and machine-readable for use by people and approved AI tools, partner with design and technology teams to explore AI-assisted design, automate documentation and quality checks, and maintain human review and information security controls
- Manage app-store activities and resolve issues that affect design quality or delivery
