Senior Product Designer, Platforms & Foundations (Temporary)

The New York Times Games team (Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee, the Daily Crossword and more) is hiring a temporary Senior Product Designer to establish and evolve design systems across its web and app experiences. The role creates shared reusable interface patterns, drives consistency and quality, and improves the design-to-engineering handoff. A hybrid temporary role based in the New York City office.

What you'll do

  • Advance the platform-focused design systems roadmap with the Games Web & App Platform PM and engineering leads
  • Create shared reusable interface patterns that work across games and game surfaces and align with brand
  • Drive convergence on shared components and tokens, working within the constraints of a legacy codebase
  • Improve the design-to-engineering handoff
  • Articulate design rationale and present work to stakeholders across teams and disciplines
