- Use LLMs to clarify scope, draft specs, surface edge cases, and align the team before committing; use AI coding tools to build and iterate and merge code to production when appropriate.
- Prototype in code (using Cursor and Claude Code), guiding structure, behavior, interaction, motion and UX quality while AI handles implementation; partner with engineering to decide what moves into product versus validated spikes.
- Fix small interaction and refinement issues directly on production code.
- Design new AI interaction paradigms for conversational interfaces and invent and validate patterns for how users converse with, direct, and trust AI systems, especially in data contexts where precision and confidence matter.
- Write evals, build skills, and create tooling and evaluation frameworks to make AI features behave predictably and improve over time.
- Iterate on evals and training to improve model behavior and AI performance on design output.
- Define AI-native UX patterns and principles for the broader team.

- 4+ years in interaction design or design engineering, with recent hands-on AI tooling experience (not just prompting, but building).
- Demonstrated use of AI coding assistants to ship real product (and side projects), with the ability to describe what was built, how AI accelerated it, and where it required steering.
- Experience writing evals, agents, prompt libraries, or skills for AI systems and understanding that evaluation is a core challenge of AI product development.
- Strong interaction design fundamentals and the ability to defend design pattern choices.
- Opinions and experience regarding AI UX: trust signals, error recovery, and progressive disclosure of reasoning with real examples.
- Exceptional ability to communicate design decisions to PMs, engineers, ML researchers, and executives.
- A portfolio that includes AI-powered or AI-adjacent product work.
- Portfolio that transforms intricate interaction problems into elegant flows (bonus if conversational interfaces), shows released designs demonstrating system-wide thinking and interactive design breadth/depth, documents process and iterations including business problem and constraints, and explains how designs furthered company objectives while meeting user needs.
