Sentry is hiring a Senior Product Designer to help own and evolve its design system, Scraps, including shared components, patterns, and guidelines. The role works at the intersection of design and engineering, partnering with product design and front-end engineering to design, specify, and refine design system components. The position focuses on design system building blocks rather than end-to-end feature design.

What you'll do

  • Own component libraries, variables, and styles that define Sentry's design language
  • Keep design system assets accurate, documented, and aligned with code
  • Partner with design engineers to specify new components and refine existing ones
  • Audit product patterns for inconsistencies and drive consolidation
  • Create and maintain documentation, usage guidelines, and Storybook stories
  • Build shared tools such as lint rules, templates, and contribution workflows
  • Advocate for the design system across product teams
  • Review component usage and coach designers on best practices

  • 5+ years designing complex software products
  • Meaningful experience on a design systems team at a comparable scale
  • Deep fluency with Figma design systems tooling, including components, variants, variables, auto layout, shared libraries, and branching workflows
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills
  • Sharp eye for spacing, hierarchy, and micro-interactions
  • Experience collaborating closely with frontend engineers on component implementation
  • Ability to speak to props, states, and edge cases
  • Comfortable creating and maintaining design documentation, usage guidelines, and contribution processes
