Metabolic is a specialist metabolic medicine clinic launching in Knightsbridge, London, with digital products across weight management and obesity, diabetes and pre-diabetes, cardiovascular risk, and hormonal and thyroid health. The role is for a Product Designer to own design across mobile, web, patient-facing and clinician-facing experiences, and the design system. The role works directly with the Head of Product and Technology and involves shipping work that patients use from day one.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain the Metabolic design system across web and mobile
  • Create component libraries in Figma, documented token sets, and interaction patterns
  • Design patient app, booking funnel, and clinician dashboard experiences
  • Design interfaces for biomarker data, scoring systems, and trend charts
  • Use AI tools as part of the design workflow where useful
  • Work closely with engineers on implementation conversations
  • Consider build-time tradeoffs in design decisions
  • Inspect CSS, review components in a codebase, and identify potential development issues

  • 3 or more years designing digital products across mobile and web
  • Portfolio showing end-to-end thinking, including problem framing, iteration, and shipping
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to a design system
  • Strong data visualization work, such as dashboards, health data, scoring interfaces, or complex information made legible
  • Experience working in small teams and making decisions without perfect information
  • High-level Figma skills, including components, variables, auto-layout, prototyping, and developer handoff
  • Working knowledge of AI-powered design tools and a clear view on which are useful
  • Enough HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript to discuss implementation with engineers and catch issues early
