This role is the second designer on Design Systems, partnering closely with the design systems lead, and requires familiarity with how tokens and component APIs are built as well as comfort with React and Tailwind.

- Design flexible, scalable components and define typography, spacing, color, states, and density
- Ship engineering-ready specs and Figma library components with variants and properties
- Shape semantic token architecture and a theming spec across varied surfaces
- Write documentation usable by designers, engineers, and coding agents
- Partner with product designers and engineers on design system needs and write migration plans for component changes
- Champion accessibility for the Helix design system

- 5+ years designing digital products, including at least two on a design system used by multiple teams
- Lead on visual craft and advocate for typography, spacing, color, states, and density
- Understand how tokens are structured and how component APIs hold up when multiple teams build on them
- Comfortable in React and Tailwind and able to build simpler components
- Able to unblock others and distinguish one-off requests from signals about system gaps
- Value clear documentation and well-chosen patterns to scale work
