Senior Product Design Engineer

The role sits between the design team and frontend engineering team, reporting to the design team and owning the design system from Figma through implementation. The person will also contribute across the codebase to ship features and support consistent product patterns.
What you'll do
- Work with the design team to improve design and user experience
- Identify opportunities to reduce product papercuts and improve clunky user experiences
- Polish microinteractions and add appropriate UI animation
- Own the design system end-to-end in Figma and code
- Work with designers using Figma components and developers using code components
- Assist design, product management, and engineering teams with high-fidelity rapid prototypes
- Design and ship UI-heavy features across the product
- Ensure components are performant and well-tested

- 5-7+ years working at the intersection of design and code in a product-led company
- Startup experience is highly desirable
- Experience with developer tools or enterprise SaaS companies is a bonus
- Owned or been a major contributor to a design system before
- Experience seeing the impact of designs over a larger scale or significant period of time is ideal
- Deep experience with React, Typescript, and Tailwind is preferred
- Ability to ramp up quickly if lacking experience with the stated stack
- Portfolio of work or GitHub profile demonstrating skill and attention to detail in product design and frontend development
