NewSenior Product Designer - Design Systems

The hands-on senior individual contributor is responsible for visual design, interaction and design systems across Bupa's digital products and for evolving and scaling Anatomy, Bupa’s design system. The role involves improving components, patterns, documentation and adoption and working closely with the Lead Product Designer, engineers and product teams. The position is hybrid (two days per week in the office) at Bupa Place or Angel Court and is 37.5 hours per week.
What you'll do
- Responsible for visual design, interaction and design systems across digital products
- Evolve and scale Anatomy, Bupa’s design system to create consistent, accessible digital experiences
- Improve components, patterns, documentation and adoption
- Design and improve reusable components, patterns and foundations across Figma
- Apply shared foundations and tokens and work with engineering to align design and code
- Work with engineers to define component behaviour, requirements and acceptance criteria
- Review implementations across responsive behaviour, interaction, content and accessibility
- Create and maintain clear guidance covering usage, behaviour, content and accessibility

- Strong understanding of design foundations, responsive design and accessibility
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, with a practical understanding of how designs translate into code
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including documenting decisions, influencing others and mentoring designers
